1. Garden Tour of Regent Square July 8th 10am-2pmVisit 9 unique gardens including a rain barrel garden, a vegetable garden, several varieties of flowering gardens and a Japanese Garden. Start the tour at the WSCC with a light brunch, a mimosa and a map. Tickets are $15 purchased by July 6th, $18 the day of the tour. 2. Pittsburgh City Council’s Reapportionment Advisory Committee has recommended that the Pittsburgh portion of the Regent Square neighborhood be moved from Councilman Corey O'Connor's District 5 to Ricky Burgess' District 9. The Committee will hold four public meetings to present its preliminary plan and to gather citizen feedback. The first meeting will be held: Monday, July 9, 2012, 7pm

Area residents are encouraged to attend, become better informed, and be heard. They may pre-register to speak for up to three minutes by contacting Linda Johnson-Wasler, City Clerk at 412-255-2138. Speakers who do not pre-register may sign up to speak at the meeting, and will be allotted one minute. 3. Tuesday, July 10, 7:00 PM - RSCA Board Meeting. The meeting has been moved from the firs Tuesday to the second due to the July 4th holiday. WSCC, 7604 Charleston Ave, between S. Braddock and Milton Ave. Regular monthly meeting of the RSCA Board. All Regent Square residents are welcome to attend these meetings to voice a community issue, volunteer to help, or just to find out what's going in Regent Square. 4. Edgewood Home Delivered Meals is a service that is run by the Eastern Area Adult Services, a private nonprofit corporation committed to serving older adults and their families, and supported by all of our local volunteers. Any Edgewood or Swissvale resident who is unable to shop for or prepare meals during a period of recuperation or for a longer term is eligible to receive this service. Volunteers pick up the meals at the Swissvale Senior Center Monday through Fridays and deliver them to shut-ins. If you or a member of your family needs this kind of help, call 731-6125 and register with the director, Jodi Trovato, or call Joy Goethert at 731-1640 if you can spare two hours once or twice a month to volunteer.
5. Tuesday, August 7, 7:00 PM - RSCA Board Meeting. WSCC, 7604 Charleston Ave, between S. Braddock and Milton Ave. Regular monthly meeting of the RSCA Board. All Regent Square residents are welcome to attend these meetings to voice a community issue, volunteer to help, or just to find out what's going in Regent Square. 6. Saturday, August 25, Run Around the Square. One of Citiparks’ most popular community foot races, the Run Around the Square features live entertainment and a delightful course that winds through the streets of Regent Square and beautiful Frick Park. The 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:15 a.m. The 5K Run will start at 9:00 a.m. There is no race day registration for either race. The 5K will be capped at 1,500 participants and limited to online registration only. You can register for the 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk online or through the paper application. Dogs can participate in the 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk ONLY, but must be leashed and have a handler. Registration for the 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk will close at midnight Wednesday, August 22.
